It's the teams ambition to transport customers to another world - a combined French-Kiwi world that s bustling with the sounds of spoken French and English, the smells of a Parisian caf and the buzz of a vibrant market place.
Franois and Hisham will greet you out front (always with a cheerful Bonjour! ), while head chef Tyler Buick, caf chef Kathryn Stokes and chef patissier Jean-Michel Heloir create magic in the kitchen using local and organic products.
We are very proud of the La Cloche philosophy. It s about caring for our customers in a relaxing, homely environment, while inviting you to savour the best in French cuisine, starting your day with Ze French tradional breakfast, croissant, pain au chocolat and tartine, says Hicham.
Drop by any time for one of Tyler's delicious French omelettes, a regional delicacy like boeuf Bourguignon (beef Burgundy) or a decadent almond croissant made by Jean-Michel (and adored by many), he says. And if it is exceptional coffee you want, then look no further, says Franois.
We've partnered with the boys at Flight Coffee, Wellington s best specialty coffee roasters, to come up with our very own Saint-Exupery blend. It s named after the famous French pilot and writer and, just like him, it is full of body with a little French twist.
We hope you ll find La Cloche is not your average caf. Every time you walk through the door, you become one of the family. Every time you leave, you ll have had a special moment, fabulous food and you ll leave with a smile.
Bon apptit.
