Empire Coffee was started in 2016 by two brothers who couldn't find a mobile coffee cart serving high quality coffee in Christchurch. In 2019 we opened our first permanent site at the Riverside Market in the Central City.
We love coffee, and can bring you the perfect brew from our permanent site or any of our three carts.
Our carts can serve over 120 coffees per hour per cart so we're happy dealing with big crowds. Our staff numbers change depending on the event.
Our beans are roasted by Coffee Embassy, who are based in Christchurch and focus on sourcing and roasting direct trade, high quality green coffee beans from around the world. We're currently using the Embassy Espresso blend of fresh crop Colombian and Brazilian beans
We grind our beans using Mythos One grinders. These give a consistent milling chamber temperature ensuring a constant dose and therefore a higher quality of espresso extraction. We also have a Ditting retail grinder for pour over coffee at select events.
