Owned and operated by James Stapley and Sam Cooper, Arc is a cosy, elegant space offering brunch during the day and tapas-style sharing plates in the evening.
We originally had the idea to open a breakfast place a few years ago - we wanted something that was different from the norm. We finally found the perfect location that had an amazing native plant garden for sitting out back, but the interior was just a shell. This allowed us to create exactly what we wanted from scratch and we worked closely with local craftsmen to create a very unique space. We wanted a very natural feel to bring some of our amazing garden space into the restaurant, so all the timber used is recycled native Rimu, and it’s decorated throughout with dried Otago wild flowers. The open kitchen style allows our guests to feel more like they are part of the experience and our fantastic front-of-house team create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

During the day we offer brunch accompanied with artisan coffee and breakfast cocktails. We wanted to create breakfast and brunch dishes that have the same level of detail and innovation that you would expect to find when you go out for dinner.

Meanwhile, in the evening the food is tapas style, with entré-size dishes that are designed to share. We also have an amazing cocktail and wine list. The idea is to get about 3 plates each and share, whilst working your way through our carefully curated drinks list.
